Whatsapp Updates will Soon Enable Reactions, Expand File Size, and Increase Group Limit
Since various emoji reactions to messages in Apple's iMessage, Telegram, and Slack are in demand, WhatsApp plans to release an update with a similar feature soon. The ability to make emoji reactions to messages in both group and individual chats was announced last month, but it was still in testing mode.
Another useful WhatsApp update is related to the increase of the maximum size of attached files from 100MB to 2GB. Also, the possible group size limit will be increased from 256 to 512 members. The app's official blog already has a post stating that an update with reactions to messages is already available to all users. Mark Zuckerberg made the corresponding news stories on his Instagram on Thursday.
The main goal of implementing reactions in WhatsApp is to speed up the process of responding to messages. After all, sometimes the user wants to answer quickly or doesn't write something at all. In this case, emojis can help you not leave the message impolitely unanswered and eliminate the need to think about the text of the message.
In order to leave a reaction to a particular message, you need to long-press on it, and then select the emoji to your liking from the list that opens. You can only keep one reaction at a time, but there are no restrictions on changing it at any time or removing it.
