Cyberpunk 2077 for PS5 Performs Unexpectedly Great
Every person who’s even a little into gaming knows about Cyberpunk 2077 and how rocky its start was. Released with numerous bugs in a nearly unplayable state, over the year after it was fixed with patches and updates. And when the time came for it to arrive on PS5, the lesson had been learned well.
Unconsciously, many players expected this release on a new platform to have some disappointing issues. The previous experience (and not only with Cyberpunk 2077 but with The Witcher 3 as well) told that CDPR always released their games in the incomplete condition that took some time to polish (pun unintended). But suddenly that wasn’t the case with the PS5 release.
From the very beginning, there were no annoying glitches and bugs. The performance is smooth and fast, so is the response. The game has been optimized for DualSense, with its feedback and improved controls. The overall performance is much better. And the main difference that shows at once is ray tracing mode. With it, the game looks much more realistic, which contributes to the futuristic atmosphere of Night City.
Maybe the reason was that the publisher learned from its mistakes and didn’t hurry up. It could be achieved because owners could play the PS4 version on their PS5 due to backward compatibility. That’s probably why CDPR delayed the release on PS5 again to remove the worst bugs and glitches. There still may be some, but the overall impression of the next-gen version is incredibly better than that of the original game in 2020. As for the Xbox Series S/X version, it doesn’t significantly differ from the PS5 one.
