Is Netflix Having an Outage?

For some reason, different platforms continue getting outages around the same time. On October 18th, a number of users have been experiencing problems with Netflix. There have been thousands of reports submitted on the app and the site. In these reports, users claim that they weren’t able to watch shows due to different problems.

According to the audience of Netflix, there have been issues with the loading of videos. About 30% of users couldn’t open the app at all, almost 40% had problems with streaming, and 30% more stated that they couldn’t load the Netflix site. Also, there have been users who mentioned that they were able to access the platform, but when they tried playing shows, they got an error.

People quickly went to forums to express their frustration and to see whether anyone else was experiencing the same problems. The problems with Netflix come only weeks after a massive outage of Instagram and WhatsApp. In the case of the streaming platform, the technical issues weren’t nearly as terrible.

When it comes to previous Netflix problems, there have been several of them in the fall of 2021:

• September 4th — the platform wasn’t loading at all for many users.
• October 14th — there have been problems worldwide for several hours.
• October 15th — the streaming service had an overnight outage.
• October 16th — users experienced an unstable connection for almost an entire day.

If you notice Netflix not working, the best strategy is to go to Twitter or other social media to see whether others have the same problem. If no one says anything, it is more than likely a problem on your device and you should check your Internet connection.
