New Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Game Will Feature Its Own Themed Switch OLED Edition

Many users have long noticed that when Nintendo is about to introduce a new title to the flagship game franchise, Pokémon, it starts by releasing an addition to its Switch OLED model range to celebrate the happy occasion. Staying true to this unwritten tradition, the company announced that the first open-world role-playing games in the series, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, scheduled to come out in November 2022, would be accompanied by the arrival of the Scarlet and Violet Edition Switch.

The new Switch OLED edition themed after and bearing the color scheme of the upcoming entry will hit US retail stores on November 4, 2022 (just a couple of weeks before the game) and should be available for $359.99, which is $10 above the price of the regular all-white Switch OLED. Intricately named The Nintendo Switch – OLED Model: Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the new handheld console model will feature pictures of the prominent Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon on the front of the dock as well as some Pokéball-themed graphics on the back. In addition, there will be illustrations of the three starter characters in the future game – Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly – on the backside of Joy-Con game controllers, along with some other recognizable game elements and symbols.

To heat fans' expectations even further up, the company has recently released its third 15-second trailer, which reveals three new Pokémon and allows us to take a closer look at the game’s treasure hunting story.
