Pokémon Go Community Day Really Great in January 2022

On January 16, Pokémon GO players were enjoying their first Community Day in 2022. And this year it was way more promising than the last one of 2021. If this tradition continues, the game may attract even more love from its fans that survived through the initial hype. Here is what Community Day January 2022 has brought.
It was predictable that this CD will focus on a certain Pokémon, instead of a group of them. Well, it was logical for the last Community Day of the year to recollect all the Pokémon of the year, but this wasn’t accepted well. The hero of this day was Spheal, introduced back in 2001 and still popular among fans, and its Shiny version was what many players were out hunting for.
Spheal can be evolved to Sealeo, and then to Walrein. If you managed to go through the evolution during the event, you were rewarded with a special version of Walrein. The Community Day subspecies can use two attacks that the normal version can’t: Fast Attack Powder Snow and – for the first time in the history of Pokémon GO - Charged Attack Icicle Spear. This Walrein remains on your Pokédex even after the event, as long as you keep your account.
All eyes were on Spheal and its evolved versions, but along with it, there were other Shiny Pokémon, like Klink or others. Some players found dozens of Shinies on that day. Even though in Northern countries it’s quite cold in January, it didn’t stop many Pokémon Goers from going outside.
The most devoted fans could also purchase a Community Day Box, with 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, five Lucky Eggs, and an Elite Fast TM. Let’s hope those who bought the Spheal Community Day ticket for $1 were not disappointed and expect the next Community Day in February.
