Radiohead Came to Fortnite

Radiohead Came to Fortnite

A collaboration that nobody could expect is happening. The depressive band from the 90s will have its own exhibition in Fortnite, as well as Fall Guys: the Ultimate Knockout and Rocket League.

A virtual exhibition is based on Kid A Mnesiac. It’s basically a double album, which incorporates the band’s two iconic albums: Kid A and Amnesia.

And now, this surreal trip into the depth of self-doubt, heartbreak, and hopeful sadness is available as an interactive exhibition. You can install the art gallery, so to say, for free — here’s the download link from the Epic Store.

It’s dedicated to alienation during the Age of Information, fear of aging, loneliness, misunderstanding, and other themes that Radiohead is famously fond of.

The exhibition is quite artsy and engaging with its glitchy aesthetics, dark tonality, and the crying Minotaur — a famous image that accompanied Radiohead’s album packaging.

Apart from Fortnite, the sentimental Minotaur will also make a cameo in Fall Guys one of the available suites. The original concept shows the mythological monster in a different light: lonely, appalled, rejected, and doomed to a tragic end.

There will also be custom loading screens in the games, inspired by the aesthetics of the album. Although, it’d be way cooler to have a bizarre rendition of Creep with music box sounds playing while another match is loading.

The Radiohead collaboration is another proof of the Epic’s dogged perseverance to create a rich metaverse. We already saw the likes of Batman, Infinity Gauntlet, Jon Wick, and others appearing in the game’s mythology.

And now, Fortnite steps into a more intellectual zone. Perhaps the next collaboration will feature Tom Waits, Decemberists, or Salvador Dalí. and which cameo would you love to see in Fortnite? Let us know in the comments!
