Twitch Passed $1bn in Spending

Although Twitch owners do not hurry to reveal the latest financial data, the new research shows it passed the $1bn' threshold. This amount of money was revealed by App Annie analytic company. It stands for the money users spent on mobile Twitch apps.
These statistics do not include the ads. App Annie calculated only the subscriptions that were paid by Twitch users. The revealed figure is impressive, considering that Twitch also receives money for ads. It looks like Twitch users spent over $1bn inside the service. According to the same research company, Twitch is in 9th place on the list of non gaming apps by the number of money users spent for subscriptions in 2021.

According to Amazon’s owned video streaming company, the number of users continues to grow. They explain it by the global trend that brought the popularity of video streaming. The number of users who downloaded and subscribed for live streaming apps increased up to 57 percent during the year. The time that users around the world spent inside such apps was raised up to 40 percent.

The company was launched in 2011. Since that time, Twitch has been a popular video streaming service that is widely spread among computer games players. They use the platform to stream the gameplay and tournaments. Users may watch videos in real-time, as well as on-demand. While lots of videos are free of charge there, viewers have to pay to get access to the exclusive content. Last year the company announced they decided to lower subscription fees for its users.

One subscription costs $4.99 a month. It includes exclusive emotes and access to unique benefits. Prime Gaming owners can subscribe to 1 channel totally free of charge.
