WhatsApp Is Planning to Release New Exciting Features
WhatsApp is going to be adding several new features in the near future. The first feature to be added is going to be an estimated time of arrival. It is currently going through beta testing by Web, iOS, and Android users. This feature is particularly useful when you are planning to send large files using WhatsApp, since it will provide you with a rough estimate of when the files that you sent are going to arrive.
The second feature that WhatsApp has been testing out is a set of new drawing tools available for iOS users. These new tools will likely include several new pencils that will enhance your drawing experience.
The new file sharing feature is available for beta testers by downloading version 2.2209.3 on desktops, 22.8.0.74 on iOS, and 2.22.8.11 on Android. The desktop version could be downloaded for almost a month now, while the iOS and Android versions have become available fairly recently.
WhatsApp continues lagging one step behind Telegram in the features that it offers. Only now the file sharing size in WhatsApp might be increased from 100MB to 2GB to be on par with Telegram that increased their file sharing size to 2GB in 2020. At the moment, only a limited number of beta testers in Argentina can test out this increase in file size.
The new drawing tools, on the other hand, are only available on iOS version 22.8.0.73 and only to a handful of beta testers. These new drawing tools include two pencils that act as an alternative to the default marker. The blur tool has been moved to the bottom bar to ensure that everything fits.
According to WhatsApp it will soon bring the new drawing tools to Android beta testers as well. However, they haven’t specified the exact date yet.
