Limited Twitch App for Nintendo Switch Users

Twitch now offers a version for Nintendo Switch users. However, the app won’t allow sharing streams. You can only watch the gameplay of other streamers and write in a chat. Nintendo Switch doesn’t cooperate with many streaming platforms. Among them are Youtube, Funimation, and Hulu. Integration with Twitch increases this list, but the only minus is limited functions for Twitch on Nintendo Switch. In comparison, PlayStation and Xbox, and Twitch web-version allow you to share your gaming.

Switch offers good quality of video for Twitch, but, of course, it’s not always convenient to watch the stream on a small screen. Nintendo Switch version has another disadvantage connected with chats. For some reason, you can’t open a chat on Switch and continue watching a stream. If you want to communicate and watch gaming at the same time, you can only open chat on your mobile phone. You will get a link or QR code to make this process easier.

One of the advantages of the Nintendo Switch is that it is handy to search and browse tabs. So, you can easily find a stream you want and start watching. It will be difficult to watch it together with your friends because the screen is too small. It’s more convenient to use a Nintendo as a smartphone to watch videos...

Twitch on Nintendo Switch seems like a great idea, but a question appears: why not use your mobile phone instead? One way or another, you should open chat on your smartphone even if you watch the stream on Nintendo. Maybe you have a smaller screen on your mobile phone, so it can be the reason to open streams on Switch. If it’s more comfortable for you to chat on another device, it’s also the case.
